A Bug's Life Ended

Seeing as it is still a work in progress, I want to forewarn you - I have to be in the zone to write like this. The characters need a certain something to be believable and it is hard to write that way <grin>. Besides all that, I am having a blast with it, never thought that the little thing I wrote for an exercise would keep on growing like that. Now here is hoping I'll be writing more to it soon because this story is fast becoming one of my own favorites. Can't wait to see where my brain takes me next.

Christmas Seperated

Thanks to Lariel for posting the exercise, I took it up and needed only a days worth of extension <G>. Now with that, the final part was written on a more personal note. I think it shows in the way that the conversations move a little more relaxed. Close to the heart, it seems I write better that way. Hope you all enjoy and have a great X-mas and a terrific new year.

Free To Wander On This Eve

This story is one I actually liked writing from the beginning and one I still like after reading it again just now. It was meant to be an answer to a writing exercise for Halloween (with which I have no experience so that was fun). But I managed to put in an angle that I had been playing with in my head for a while; how to have a story that is sweet and loving, while at the same time has a kind of happy and sad feeling to it. This would be something to read if you want to have a sort of happy end feeling when in a state of mind that would inhibit that. Having that little bit of hope, that thing to hold on to, to get us through life.

The story was actually a small form of homage to my grandmother, whom I wish could have been alive still. (She did have that cute smile and could always fool me into anything).

Guiding Light

I wrote guiding light, cause I wanted to bring the two characters together. I needed an end because they kept going through my head. It felt real good to give them this. I think this and Free To Wander will probably remain my two favorites, for they felt good to write as well as to read afterwards.

A Promise Of A Deliciously Sinful Life

This was a writing exercise about the seven deadly sins and my brain came up with this. My girlfriend would say I still have some unresolved issues, and I would agree. But then again, I am glad I am dealing with it through writing instead of real life. Don't let it put you off, there is a message here that takes most of us some time to finally learn.

A Trip To Uni

I was pretty happy with what I came up with for this contest. The whole idea of having some creep keeping an eye on you while you are already in a less then comfortable situation was what came to mind almost immediately after reading the words they had given.

Now after reading it back I know I could have possibly done more with it, especially seeing as I have not used the whole 700 words but stayed well under it with a mere 630. It was an experience well worth it, and no doubt will have me participating in more writing contests.

Valentines Reunion

A previous posted writing exercise challenging us to write a valentine story hat you wouldn't other wise connect to this day. Well me having this little morbid streak to me came up with this, that and I had watched too much ‘Murder one' and FBI files on TV before writing this. See that should warn you TV is bad, reading is good, grin.

Wild Horses

Sometimes I get the idea I could have been a bit more clear with it, but some of the descriptions I used I think will still pull the reader in. This story was actually supposed to have a not so happy ending but due to some prompting I changed it. The story started out because I kept thinking of lines describing a roaring sea. It was somewhat inspired by a story my grandma told me about her mother, she actually walked into the sea to end her life. People would probably want to read it cause it connects to the Free To Wander story, that and it is a nice piece with emotions and descriptions that leaves you with hope in the end. So this came to be a part two in a possible quartet without me actually going for that.
